Origin Of You exists because the old ways people used to make sense of themselves — the chart, the number, the card — were never meant to be read alone, and were never meant to be read like a fortune cookie. They were meant to be read carefully, slowly, and together.
We are a small studio of writers, engineers and practitioners who happen to take these systems seriously — not as a religion and not as a joke, but as some of the oldest, most patient attempts humans have ever made to describe one another. We compute the math the way an astronomer would. We write the prose the way an editor would. And then we hand the result to you and say: here, this is one careful way of looking at who you are. Take what's useful. Leave the rest.

Our mission
To give every person on earth a portrait of themselves that is honest, beautiful, and grounded in something other than a feed. A document you can return to when life gets noisy. Not a label, not a horoscope, not a personality type — a careful, written description of the patterns you've been carrying since the day you were born, drawn from five systems that have been describing humans for thousands of years.
We think most people go through life with a stranger's idea of themselves stitched into their head — borrowed from parents, school, algorithms, ex-lovers and bad bosses. A good origin is the opposite of that. It's the long, slow sentence you've never been allowed to write about yourself, written for you, in a voice that takes you seriously.
The five lenses we read together
No single system has the whole answer. Each one is a flashlight pointed at a different part of the same room. Read alone, they flatter or frighten. Read together, they triangulate.
- Astrology — what was overhead the moment you arrived. The texture of your temperament, your timing, the weather you came in under.
- Numerology — what your name and date encode as numbers. The arithmetic of your life path, your inner urge, the year you're standing inside.
- Tarot — the archetypes attached to your birth date. Old pictures of old parts of being human, sized to fit you.
- Chinese zodiac — animal, element, yin or yang. A second, older calendar that notices things the Western one misses.
- Lunar phase — the moon you were born under. A small, unfairly accurate detail about how you process the world.
What we believe
Math first, prose second.
Every sentence we write about you is grounded in a computation — a chart, a number, a card drawn by a deterministic rule. We show our work. If a claim can't be traced back to data, it doesn't ship.
We don't tell fortunes.
No predictions, no destiny, no fear. The future is yours to write. What we offer is a careful look at the patterns you carry — useful for self-knowledge, useless for buying lottery tickets.
Old systems, read seriously.
Astrology, numerology, tarot and the Chinese zodiac have survived for centuries because they encode something about how humans pay attention to themselves. We treat them as language, not magic — and we read all of them at once, where most people read only one.
Your data is yours.
We never sell it, never trade it, never use it to train models for someone else. You can delete your origin at any time and it's gone — from our servers and our backups.
How an origin is written
Every origin starts with a calculation. We compute the position of the sun, moon and planets at your moment of birth, reduce your full name and birth date to their numerological values, draw the tarot cards your date assigns you, find your Chinese zodiac sign and element, and locate the moon's exact phase the day you arrived.
Then — and only then — we write. The prose is drafted with the help of large language models we trust, edited by humans who care about sentences, and constrained by the underlying math so it can't drift into flattery or doom. If the chart says quiet, we don't write extrovert. If the numbers say slow burn, we don't write overnight star. We'd rather be accurate than impressive.

Origin Of You is built by a small, distributed team across Europe and North America — engineers, editors, a designer with an unhealthy attachment to old typography, and practitioners who've spent a combined several decades reading these systems with real people. We're independent, bootstrapped, and intend to stay that way. No ads. No data resale. No "premium horoscope of the day."
